Economy in a downward spiral because of the falling dollar

What in the world are we to do when we think that we are living in a cool place and then the rug is pulled out from underneath our feet?

I haven't got time for the pain ... do you? I know that if the economy keeps heading in the direction that it is going in, we won't be able to sustain.

Let's talk about the value of the dollar... For those of you out there who aren't aware of the falling dollar, I suggest that you take the time to educate yourself about this sore subject.

However, I can clue you in on what your dollar bill is really worth. Currently (meaning: last time I checked) it is worth some where around 70 cents. Unbelievable ... I know, but it's for real.

My current occupation, which is a waitress, is a job where the employee depends on tips, because the minimum wage for a waitress is only $3.77 an hour (at the time this topic was posted).

With that said, the fact that I do rely on my tips, I do strive for a bigger tip, not because of greed, but for basic survival, and really people, a $1.00 tip is an insult to any waitress, not just myself, especially when prices keep rising, without any end in sight.

I, the waitress, have greeted you with a smile, got your drink, taken your food order, delivered your food to your table, refilled your drink ( if you wanted it ), checked on how you were doing, and cleared your empty dishes from your table with a smile.

Doesn't that kind of service deserve at least a $2.00 tip? Which in reality adds up to around $1.40 because of inflation rates. You would think it would wouldn't you? But still for some reason that I am having a hard time understanding, even with good service, I am still receiving a $1.00 tip, sometimes less, from some of my customers ... Believe it or not.

My question is: Are those certain people, who won't tip more than a $1.00, living in a different reality than most people are, or are they just not very educated. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate every tip that i receive, because nothing is worse than not getting tipped at all, even though you did give them good service.

I am sure that all of the waitresses out there who read this will agree with me about how important it is to receive more than a $1.00 tip.

So in conclusion, here is a video about the falling dollar for your viewing pleasure.
