Can we ever be sure of anything anymore? Are we doomed to keep repeating our mistakes, over & over again? I sincerely hope not, because that would be very sad, indeed.
I am a person, who thinks that continuing the wars in the middle east, would be a big mistake, because the U.S. deficit is already in the trillions.
In an earlier post, I included a video, which showed how much money was being spent on the Iraq war on a daily basis, which at that time, was 720 million. Then it goes on to show, what those millions of dollars, should have been spent on, which incidentally, would have helped the economy to get back on track a lot faster, because there would have been more money to go toward better education and much needed infrastructure repair, which would have helped to create more jobs, that we need desperately, now that there are hundreds of thousands of people, who are still out of work.
I fear that if the wars continue for very much longer, there will be dire consequences, for all, who are responsible for starting those wars, which have also, put U.S. citizens in jeopardy, because we are now seen as a country, who likes to occupy other countries and take out their infrastructure, which in turn causes the middle east to hate all Americans even though, not everyone agrees, with the wars, like myself. The fact that the Iraq war was started, because of a false claim of WMDs, you have to wonder, why the U.S. gov't felt the need, to move forward with the war on Iraq, when clearly there were no WMDs, after a thorough inspection.
Was the war started for undisclosed reasons, regardless of evidence that the U.S., would not be targeted by Iraq, for a future attack, because they didn't have the weapons to do it, from that distance? Then why would we attack a country in the middle east, for no apparent reason? What would compel the U.S. gov't to do this? Some say it is because of the oil, and call it the oil war, but if that is the real reason, then why is our gov't trying to get every American car company to go green, and use less oil?
The reason that I bring this up, is because of the decision to go to war with Afghanistan. I am afraid that we will lose to many soldiers in this war, because the terrain is a lot more deadlier to fight the war. It isn't as flat as Iraq's terrain. There are hills and caves. More places for their soldiers to hide.
Our soldiers should be here in the U.S., protecting our borders, and not getting shot at, in the middle east.
I know that there are probably many people, who might view me as being un-pratriotic, and disagree with me about bringing our troops home, from a war, that more than likely, will drag on for another 8-10 years, but I ask, "How can that be good for our troops, and for our foreign relations?" The stress alone with fearing for your life, as you go further into unknown Afghanistan territory, would be enough to shorten your life span, even if you don't get taken out by those people, who are trying to defend their homeland, as we would, if that same situation, should arise here in the U.S.A.
I have included a lengthy video/documentary with this blog, so quick, go make some popcorn, and freshen up your drink, and enjoy the video. It may surprise you, and possibly change your total outlook, on wars in general.
